Rebalancing Your Life

One of the greatest challenges in our daily fast paced lives is maintaining balance. We're multi-tasking all the time and our priorities are constantly changing. Everything is instant and everything is crisis. So how can we bring back the balance and have better personal and professional lives? Like going on a trip, we need to plan and use the right equipment. So let's begin.

DRINK LIKE A FISH

Drinking 8 glasses or 2 litres of water is not an option, but essential for life. Our kidneys process 140 litres of fluid a day. It's easy to sip bottled water throughout the day or have a glass every 2 hours. Help your kidneys and yourself have a healthy lifestyle. DRINK LIKE A FISH.

EAT YOUR CEREAL PLEASE!

Why is fibre so important? Fibre is a vital part of the detoxification process necessary for the body to begin its natural healing. It eliminates toxins through continuous blood and colon cleansing. Scientists now recognize that fibre plays a big role in the risk of leading chronic diseases such as Heart disease, Cancer, Obesity and Diabetes. Health Canada recommends 30 to 35 grams daily.

VEGETABLES ARE GOOD FOR YOU!

If you want to stay healthy and stave off disease, you have to eat your vegetables. It's like putting the right gas in your car. Remember a rainbow? It's important to eat vegetables of every colour: red, yellow, orange, green and white. If you eat some of them natural, like carrot sticks and celery, even better; as the more they are cooked, the more they loose their nutrients. Eating fruits and vegetables each day will help you meet your requirements of Vitamin A, B, C, K and folate; minerals such as iron and potassium and disease-fighting plant chemicals like fibre. Remember, grab an apple or orange instead of a coffee.

NATURE'S TOOTHBRUSH - APPLES

"Apples are called nature's toothbrush," says Fran Berkoff, a nutrition columnist for Canadian Living Magazine. When you chew on them, they stimulate your gums and increase the flow of saliva, which helps kill bacteria that cause tooth decay. For a mere 90 calories, one medium apple is potent medicine.

IF YOU DON''T USE IT, YOU LOOSE IT

Obesity is at an all time high in adults and children from 10 up. Heath Canada reports that more than 1/2 of Canadians aged 5 to 17 are not active enough for optimum growth and development. That applies to the rest of the family too. In general, most Canadians simply are not getting enough physical activity to keep them mentally alert and ward off physical and mental disease. We spend too many hours in front of the computer or TV and our bodies are paying for it. Walk and talk with your family or climb 2 flights of stairs a day. Help yourself stay healthy.

IT'S OUR WORLD

Mother Earth is an amazing place, however she is also fragile. If we don't take care of our world, who will? Environmental issues and global warming are at crisis proportion. Can we re-cycle more, and pollute less? It only takes minutes. Let's help our quality of life; we're all downstream and connected to one another. Thank you for your help.

TREAT OTHERS THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED

What do you do to make the world a better place? Being kind to others makes society run more smoothly, plus it make you feel good. It also makes you healthier. Studies have shown that volunteering raises self-esteem and lowers stress, making you feel healthier. Please do one good deed a day. You help others and make our world a better place.
